Meet Dr. Kimmich
Dr. Kimmich, has been in practice for 25 years. He graduated with his BS and MS in science from the University of Georgia. Dr. Kimmich graduated from Southern College of Optometry in 1980. He received his fellowship in the American academy of Optometry in 1992 and his fellowship in the COVD in 1992. Dr. Kimmich has been a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Georgia in the Education department, The School of Law, and the Neuropsychological departments. His primary interest is Myopia control in high-risk groups.
Since 1978 Dr. Kimmich has gone on missionary work to third world countries once a year to lead teams helping with the vision of the poor. This work has taken him to Haiti, Honduras, Ecuador, and Costa Rico. He has lead Svosch teams from Ohio State and SCO. Dr. Kimmich has a permanent clinic on the Island of Roatan
Dr. Kimmich was the Sports Vision Therapy and optometrist consultant to the University of Georgia Women's Athletic Department for 7 years. He worked with all the women's teams to achieve maximum performance.
Dr. Kimmich has studied with Dr. Stuart Grand of Beverly Hills California and Nick Stoylan of Context CL Company. He is a certified Paragon CRT fitter and has over 25 years of experience in Orthokeratology. Dr. Kimmich also gives lectures all over the country about the benefits and practices of Corneal Refractive Therapy. Dr. Kimmich has been chosen as a member of the professional advisory board for Paragon vision CRT. He owns a practice in Watkinsville, Georgia, which specializes in CRT, Vision therapy, RGPS Myopia prevention, vision related learning disabilities, specialty contact lenses work for traumatic, post surgical and keratoconic eyes, as well as other extreme contact lens problems. He lectures across America on these specialized subjects. Dr. Kimmich also owns a consulting company to assist other doctors in achieving success with Paragon CRT lenses.
Dr. Kimmich also enjoys water sports such as scuba, skiing and
sailing. His hobbies also include playing guitar, piano and drums. The paintings
hanging in the office are also painted by Dr Kimmich who has shows in the Athens
area for the landscapes. Dr. Kimmich attends Covenant Presbyterian church where
he teaches Sunday school to the 5th and 6th grades. Dr. Kimmich lives in Athens
with his daughter Erika.
